Jacqui Stockdale and Lucia Rossi at the Despard Gallery

It is not unusual for artists to need injections of funds every so often for the development and production of new works.

Artists Jacqui Stockdale and Lucia Rossi have gathered together from their archives a collection of more than thirty rare and unusual works that they are offering for auction to raise funds for their collaborative project Isola Corpo. This project involves the creation of new works on the relationship between island identity and the body, with the inaugural exhibition of this work to be shown at the Carnegie Gallery, Hobart, in late November, with a proposed national tour for
2008/2009.

Despard Gallery has represented both artists for some years now, and it has been an exciting journey to witness and support the development of their professional practice, their concepts, themes and ideas. The evening promises to be a memorable and entertaining occasion for discerning collectors.

We take great pleasure in offering to you this fantastic opportunity to acquire unique works from the archives of Jacqui Stockdale and Lucia Rossi, and the chance to support these artists in the development and presentation of new works.
